Chairperson of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Nomadic Development Corporation Pallavi G. has urged officers to take benefits of various government schemes to the backward nomadic communities.

Chairing a review meeting in Yadgir on Monday, Ms. Pallavi said that the government has introduced schemes that provide loans for people of these communities for self-employment.

“The officers of the department concerned should sanction loans to these people to bring financial stability among them,” she said.

The nomadic tribes migrate from one place to another for livelihood. They don’t even have their own houses. Officers should ensure that they get houses under housing schemes apart from giving them loans, she said.

Earlier, Ms. Pallavi heard grievances of the nomadic community who submitted applications seeking benefits under government schemes. She assured them that she will discuss the problems that the community is facing at the government level to find solutions to them.

Ms. Pallavi also suggested to Deputy Commissioner B. Susheela to hold quarterly grievance redressal meetings and review the progress of work.
