A.R. Affan, who is accused of murdering five people including his family members, was taken for evidence collection to his paternal uncle Latheef’s house at S.N. Puram, near Venjaramoodu, on Tuesday.

On being taken to the crime scene by the Kilimanoor police, Affan explained how Latheef and his wife Sajitha were murdered on February 24.

The police also recovered Latheef’s mobile phone from near the house. The accused is suspected to have thrown the mobile phone while fleeing the house after allegedly committing the murders.

Affan was subsequently taken to the shops where he purportedly purchased the hammer, chilly powder, backpack and rat poison on the day of the crime. He will be returned to judicial custody on Wednesday.

Last week, the accused was taken for evidence collection by the Pangode police in the murder case of his grandmother Salma Beevi.
