The UPSC Civil Services Exam is one of the toughest exams in the world. Every year, lakhs of candidates appear for this exam. But only a few hundred make it to the final list. Clearing this exam is a dream for many. And some colleges in India have helped make this dream come true for thousands.

Delhi University (DU) tops the list. It is known as a factory for IAS officers. Around 4,000 students from DU have cleared the UPSC Civil Services Exam between 1975 and 2014. DU includes famous colleges like St. Stephen’s College, Miranda House, and Lady Shri Ram College.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi also has an impressive record. About 1,375 students from JNU have cracked the exam in the same period. These numbers show the strong academic environment and guidance these universities offer to aspirants.
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are also in the race. IIT Kanpur and IIT Delhi have produced several IAS officers over the years. Though known for engineering, many IIT graduates are now joining civil services.

Banaras Hindu University (BHU) and Allahabad University are other top names on the list. They have contributed many officers to the Indian bureaucracy.
