An email received by the administration of DY Patil College in Akurdi claimed that RDX explosives had been planted on the campus and that a major blast was planned. This led to immediate action by the Pimpri-Chinchwad police and the college authorities.

DY Patil College has a large campus in Akurdi, where thousands of students study in various streams. On Tuesday (March 11), while exams were in progress, the administration received an email at 9 AM. The email threatened that RDX had been placed on the campus to blow up the college.

However, the college administration informed the Pimpri-Chinchwad police about the email only after three hours, at 12 PM. Upon receiving the information, the Ravet police rushed to the scene. A bomb detection and disposal squad, a canine squad, cyber police, and crime branch officials were deployed immediately.

Senior officials from the commissionerate visited the site for inspection. Initially, the police thoroughly searched the examination area but found no explosives. A full campus search was conducted, and once it was confirmed that no explosives were present, cyber police began investigating the email’s origin. The investigation to identify the sender is currently underway.
