The Andhra Pradesh Government is all set to attract investments in the tourism sector with new land allotment guidelines aimed at promoting ease and speed of doing business.
The new Andhra Pradesh Tourism Land Allotment Policy 2024-2029 has been prepared by the government with a focus on the efficient use of government land to develop infrastructure and create diverse tourism experiences, a senior official told businessline.
The other objectives of the policy are to improve service delivery, unlock tourism potential and promote sustainable public-private partnerships (PPPs) and to foster investment, benefit local communities, drive economic growth, and enhance the State’s overall tourism appeal.
As per the new policy, the government will be allotting land ranging from one acre to 150 acres depending on the nature of the investment and tourism entities to be set up.
For wayside amenities, multiplexes and MICE centres land ranging from one acre to 10 acres is proposed to be allocated while resorts, theme parks, golf courses and mega tourism parks and other projects can get land between 10 to 150 acres, the official said.
The State Government can allocate land beyond specified limits for tourism projects based on factors like innovation and growth by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) and can also allot for tourism projects or 3-star and above hotel chains by making amends to the government orders based on the merit, tourism and employment potential of the project, as per the new policy.
The definition of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) will be as per the definitions notified by the Ministry of MSME, GoI from time to time for consideration of smaller investments.
The new policy provides for floating of a consortium with up to three members for large, mega, and ultra mega tourism projects and joint ventures and other models are allowed for mega tourism/5-Star projects with SIPB approval. For MSME projects, consortiums are limited to two members.
