Coaching centres bill, govt staff gratuity get cabinet approval
Jaipur: In a bid to save coaching centres, especially in Kota, from the ignominy of students' suicides, and bring in transparency in their functioning, the state cabinet Saturday approved the Rajasthan Coaching Centres (Control and Regulation) Bill-2025.
The much-anticipated bill, set to be tabled during the ongoing Budget session, seeks to regulate coaching institutes across the state, ensuring a secure and transparent environment for students. Addressing concerns over unregulated coaching institutes, the bill proposes a state-level portal for monitoring and a 24x7 helpline for student counselling.
Briefing the media, deputy chief minister Prem Chand Bairwa said, "All coaching institutes with 50 or more students will be required to register."
An authority proposed in the bill will oversee registration and compliance with safety and educational standards. Additionally, the bill mandates district-level committees to be headed by the district magistrates for ensuring effective local governance of the institutes.
The cabinet also approved the State Skill Policy aimed at equipping the youth with advanced skills to meet global industry demand.
