Patna: Around 3-10 rounds of bullets were fired during a clash over a land dispute under Gaurichak locality in Patna district on Sunday. The incident occurred around 12.15pm when the victim, Sadeen Rai, was constructing a boundary wall on his property in front of a school. His cousin, Jai Prakash, along with 4-5 people on three motorcycles arrived there, opened fire in the air and fled the spot. However, no was injured in the incident, said police.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a police team from Gaurichak police station reached the spot. During their initial investigation, they recovered five empty bullet shells from the spot. The forensic science laboratory (FSL) team collected evidences and conducted a detailed examination of the crime scene.
SHO Manish Kumar, who arrived on the spot, said, "The victim was overseeing the construction of the boundary wall on his land when his cousin reached there and opened fire to create panic and intimidate the victim and others present there. There is no information about any casualty in the firing. Further investigation is underway."
"The victim has filed an FIR against five people involved in the incident. The police have begun their investigation and teams have been formed to locate Prakash and his associates who fled the spot after the firing. The CCTV footage of the nearby areas is also being examined and checking criminal background of the accused," the SHO added.
