Man dies after car rams bus in Erode

Erode: A 59-year-old man died after a car he was driving rammed the rear of a bus which had briefly halted on the roadside at Othakuthirai in Erode on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Govindarajan, of Polavakalipalayam, at Gobichettipalayam in Erode district.
"A college bus belonging to Venkateswara Engineering College had halted on the roadside. Govindarajan drove straight into its rear and the front portion of the car got stuck under the bus, killing him instantly," said a police officer.
Police arrested the bus driver S Govindan, 74, from Gobichettipalayam, in connection with the incident.
Gobichettipalayam police have registered a case and are investigating further.
