Katrina Kaif is one of the leading actresses in Bollywood today. It has been more than two decades since she entered the industry. However, while Katrina is now one of the most celebrated actresses, there were days in the early stages of her career when she faced rejections.
In a recent interview, Katrina revealed that she was replaced in a film just after one day of shooting. The movie was directed by Anurag Basu, and the film was Saaya. Recalling the incident, Katrina admitted, “At that time, I thought my life was over. I thought my career was over.”
However, she highlighted the significance of resilience when dealing with rejection, stating, “Everyone faces rejection, and as an actor, you have to develop that resilience if you want to succeed,” she told Bollywood Bubble.
For those who don’t know, the 2003 film Saaya was an Indian adaptation of the 2002 Hollywood movie Dragonfly. Helmed by Anurag Basu and produced by Mahesh Bhatt, the film featured a stellar cast, including John Abraham, Tara Sharma, Mahima Chaudhry, Zohra Sehgal, and Rajendranath Zutshi.
In the same interview, Katrina revealed that someone once bluntly told her that she couldn’t act and had nothing good to offer. Though she had a breakdown, she held on to her vision of becoming a leading actress. She said, “I cried then too, so crying helps. But then you hold onto the vision you have, you work hard, and you’ve got to be resilient.”
Coming to Katrina’s professional front, the actress made her debut in 2003 with the film Boom, and over the years, she has captivated fans with her performances and grace. Meanwhile, Katrina was last seen in the action-packed drama Tiger 3, where she shared the screen with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan.
