Patna: Former CM Rabri Devi on Saturday urged the people to support the RJD-led Grand Alliance in the upcoming elections, promising to fulfil all commitments made by her party.
Speaking at a function to mark the International Women's Day, she told party workers to stay united and vote for the opposition alliance. "Please get united and form the ‘Tejashwi Sarkar' in 2025. Once we come to power, we will fulfill all the promises made by us one by one," she said. Rabri also claimed that she holds the "guarantee" to fulfill every pledge made by her party. In her speech, she alleged that her family was being harassed by central agencies.
However, she refused to comment on remarks made by CM Nitish Kumar in the state legislative council on Friday. When asked, she said, "Keechad mein humko nahin jana hai" (I don't want to stoop that low). On Friday, Nitish had targeted Rabri in the legislative council and said, "When Lalu Prasad began to sink, he installed his wife as CM."
Speaking at the same event, opposition leader
Tejashwi Prasad Yadav announced a new welfare scheme named ‘BETI', which stands for benefit, education, training and income. "If our govt comes to power in Bihar, we will introduce the BETI scheme. The govt will take care of a girl's upbringing, education, training and employment," he said.
