57 women kick off Rickshaw Rally from Chennai to Goa
57 women entrepreneurs from the UK have set off on a trip, from Chennai to Goa, in auto rickshaws. The six-day rally will see them cover cities like Vellore, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru and Bhatkal, before reaching Goa. Emma Sayle, founder of the Sisterhood group, says this rally is all about being grateful and giving back to the community.
“These women love to travel, and with the autos, there’s a cultural reference too. It is one of the most relatable modes of transport in India,” explained Poornima, one of the organisers.
