Bathinda: In a determined effort to uphold the Punjab govt's resolution to fight drug abuse, the cabinet sub-committee members pressed on with their district visits on Friday.
Health minister Balbir Singh toured Bathinda and Barnala, while transport minister Laljit Singh Bhullar visited Faridkot, both reiterating that the fight will persist until drugs and drug peddlers are eradicated from the state. During their visits, the ministers also reviewed the progress of preparations to eliminate the menace, and held meetings with district officials to ensure sustained action.
Earlier on Thursday, Laljit Singh Bhullar visited the border districts of Ferozepur and Fazilka, while health minister Balbir Singh visited the de-addiction centres at Faridkot and Moga.
Drug dealers and drug traffickers will now either be in jails or will have to move out of Punjab, as the govt is determined to root out drug abuse from the state, said Balbir Singh at Bathinda. Bhullar asked those involved in illegal acts to stop trading in drugs, else they will have to face stringent measures.
The party MLAs and senior district officials accompanied the ministers in the districts.
