Lucknow: After conducting the board examinations under CCTV surveillance to curb cheating, the authorities of UP Board have now issued SOPs for evaluation of answer copies. The UP Board classes 10 and 12 exams end on March 12 while the evaluation will commence on March 19. In a seven-page document issued to all district inspectors of schools and principals, board secretary Bhagwati Singh said evaluation centres must ensure functional CCTVs equipped with voice recorders. No photography of the centres is allowed, and the entry of outsiders is banned at these centres. The evaluation of answer copies will take place at 261 centres from March 19 to April 2. As per the SOPs, a teacher will evaluate 50 high school and 45 intermediate answer copies in a day. Over 3 crore answer sheets will be evaluated during a time span of 15 days.
The SOPs further state that no teacher on evaluation duty will be allowed to carry their mobile phones or any other electronic device in the evaluation room. The rooms at the evaluation centres must be properly ventilated and have enough light. Police have been instructed to prevent the entry of anyone other than those on evaluation duty inside these centres. They have also been entrusted with the task of monitoring the store (where bundles of answer copies are kept) 24x7. They will also have to record the details of its opening and closing every time in the register. TNN
