Former V-C of Mother Teresa Women’s University gets Avvaiyar Award

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday presented the Avvaiyar Award to Yasoda Shanmugasundaram, former Vice-Chancellor, Mother Teresa Women’s University, for her contribution to the development of women. 

He also handed over appointment letters to three women trained under the Naan Mudhalvan Scheme.

Participating in the International Women’s Day celebrations, the Chief Minister distributed cheques to students to pursue postgraduate education in foreign universities. A total of five students received ₹3.50 crore given on behalf of Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department.
