Man who used 10-year-old son as drug carrier arrested

Thiruvalla police on Saturday arrested a 39-year-old man , who used his 10-year-old son to smuggle narcotics. Authorities also seized 3.78 grams of MDMA from his possession.

The accused,identified as Muhammed Shameer, allegedly transported drugs by taping them to his son’s body using adhesive strips for making deliveries. According to officials, he had been supplying narcotics to a wide network of customers, including school and college students. Investigations also revealed that he had recruited other schoolchildren as drug carriers.

Shameer had been under police surveillance for six months before his arrest. Following a preliminary interrogation, he was produced before a magistrate and remanded in custody.
