Koppal dist BJP terms budget anti-people, holds protest
Koppal: BJP functionaries organised a protest at Basaveshwara Circle on Saturday, accusing chief minister Siddaramaiah of delivering a budget that is detrimental to the public and claiming that the govt is anti-Dalit. The party workers claimed that money allocated for Dalit communities was being misappropriated for the guarantees, and rallied with slogans that declared that govt has broken its promises. Dr Basavaraj Kyavater, a member of the state executive, expressed his dissatisfaction, remarking, "It is shameful that CM Siddaramaiah, who positions himself as an Ahinda leader and advocate for Dalits, failed to support that community. This budget is a poor reflection of the Congress govt, which hindered the state's progress by prioritising five guarantees for political advantage. Critical irrigation projects and necessary infrastructure in the Koppal district were neglected in this budget." District BJP president Basavaraj Dhadesuguru and numerous party workers participated in the protest.
