JFK Millennium Partners (JMP), the team chosen by the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey to design and oversee the development of the new Terminal 6 at John F. Kennedy International Airport, has announced that ultra-low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines (Nasdaq: ULCC) will operate from T6 starting in 2026. Frontier will be the 13th international airline to make Terminal 6 its new hub, joining renowned carriers like Air Canada, Aer Lingus, ANA, and Lufthansa. With new destinations like Miami, Dallas, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Orlando, Las Vegas, Tampa, and San Juan, Frontier Airlines will redefine travel at JFK’s future Terminal 6, ushering in a new era of air travel alongside global industry leaders.

Terminal 6 is a centerpiece of the Port Authority’s $19 billion overhaul of JFK, which includes the construction of two new terminals, the expansion of two existing terminals, a state-of-the-art ground transportation hub, and a revamped road system.

Frontier’s passengers can expect a cutting-edge, digital-first experience at T6, with an average walk of less than five minutes from TSA security to the gates. The terminal will feature biometric-enabled self-service bag drops, 100,000 square feet of NYC-inspired shopping, dining, and amenities, curated public art, sustainable operations, and a premium guest experience.

Frontier’s partnership with JMP began in 2024 at JFK Terminal 7, where the airline launched its first-ever flights to San Juan, Puerto Rico. The airline has since expanded its operations, with six daily flights from Terminal 7 to destinations like Atlanta, Orlando, Las Vegas, Tampa, and San Juan. Starting this spring, Frontier will further expand its JFK service with new daily flights to Miami (beginning March 31, 2025), Dallas Ft. Worth (starting April 22, 2025), and Los Angeles (launching May 1, 2025).

“We are thrilled to be part of Frontier’s successful journey at JFK airport, and we look forward to continuing to grow our partnership while offering Frontier passengers a state-of-the-art, entirely new boutique experience at T6,” said Steve Thody, CEO, JFK Millennium Partners.

“Frontier Airlines is excited to continue expanding our operations at JFK and we look forward to transitioning to the new, state-of-the-art Terminal 6 next year,” said Matthew Sattler, director of airport planning and facilities, Frontier Airlines. “There is no doubt our customers are going to enjoy the beautiful facilities, modern technology and abundant amenities that T6 will offer.”
