Speeding SUV claims man’s life

Ludhiana: A speeding Mahindra Scorpio hit a scooterist near Dhilwan village in Samrala Friday morning.
The SUV dragged him for several metres, killing him instantly.
The deceased, Kapil Marwaha, 46, a resident of Samrala, worked in a private firm. He was on his way to Khanna for work when he met with the accident around 9am.
Sources said Kapil was hit by the speeding SUV near a fuel station. Onlookers immediately informed the police.
Gurmeet Singh, SHO, Samrala police station, said the SUV has been seized and a search is on for the accused.
Doctors said Kapil suffered a severe head injury. He is survived by his wife and two children.
