Body of man found on roadside

Chennai: The body of a man, with his mouth gagged, was found dumped beneath some bags of construction debris on the roadside in Tondiarpet on Wednesday. Police, noting that the man's head had been hit with a heavy object, said the murder could have happened a few days ago. They said he could have been around 40 years old and are yet to identify him.
Police, who had been informed by residents about foul smell coming from the debris bags, browsed through CCTV camera footage from shops and houses to track the assailants. A case has been registered.
