Writer Frank Huzur passes away at 48
Lucknow: Frank Huzur, a journalist, writer, and socialist thinker, passed away on Wednesday night in Delhi due to heart attack. He was 48 and is survived by his wife Fermina Mukta Singh and their 10-year-old son Marcos.
His mortal remains were kept at the Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital mortuary in Jahangirpuri, and his family members are on their way to Delhi for the last rites. Born in Buxar, Bihar, Huzur's original name was Somesh Yadav.
He pursued his education at St. Xavier's College, Ranchi, and Hindu College, Delhi University, where he gained recognition for his English poetry and drama.
His literary journey began with works such as "Hitler in Love with Madonna," followed by "Blood is Burning" and "Style Hai Lalu Ki Zindagi."
His most notable work includes the political biography of former Pakistani cricketer and PM Imran Khan, titled "Imran vs Imran: The Untold Story." Huzur was deeply committed to secularism and social justice and authored several biographies, including those of Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav. His magazine became a platform for progressive political discourse.
In recent years, Huzur actively participated in politics and joined Congress in Delhi.
His college friend from Hindu College, Jogender Singh Rana, recalled him as a kind-hearted intellectual who was always willing to help the poor and needy.
"Frank was a great thinker and a compassionate soul. His contributions to literature, politics, and society will be deeply missed," he said.
