Matric exams ends, results likely in May
Cuttack: The annual High School Certificate examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, ended on Thursday, with more than 5.12 lakh students appearing across 3,133 centres statewide.
The examinations, which started on Feb 21, included students from Madhyama and State Open School Certificate streams too. BSE president Srikant Tarai announced that evaluation of answer sheets would start on March 19 with results expected in the first week of May.
"We have implemented robust security measures this year to ensure integrity in the examination," Tarai told reporters. These measures included watermarks, barcodes, and encrypted security numbers on question papers to prevent potential leaks.
A notable addition to this year's examination protocol was establishment of a central command centre for real-time monitoring of examination centres through video feeds. "The command centre has been instrumental in maintaining examination sanctity and preventing malpractices," Tarai said.
The board's enhanced security measures have proven effective, with no reported incidents of paper leaks or malpractice during the examination period.
