NMC’s Women Entrepreneurs’ Fair gets going
Nagpur: Women Entrepreneurs' Fair organised by Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to promote self-reliance among women and self-help groups kicked off at Reshimbagh under the leadership of divisional commissioner Madhavi Khode on Wednesday. NMC commissioner Abhijeet Chaudhari, additional commissioner Anchal Goyal, and other officials were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Khode encouraged women to create their own brands, market their products, and expand globally. She praised the NMC for providing 250 stalls to self-help groups, calling it a major achievement. She also urged more groups to seek financial aid from banks to scale up their businesses.
Commissioner Chaudhari said that the fair was revived after a six-year gap. Over the next seven days, the event will showcase various products and cultural performances. He assured that the NMC is working towards providing a permanent platform for women entrepreneurs.
Additional commissioner Anchal Goyal announced that the fair will also include health camps, competitions, and training sessions on packaging and e-marketing. She revealed that NMC's livelihood programme empowered 35,000 women over the last decade.
Following the inauguration, a cultural programme, "Maharashtrachi Lokdhara," featuring Marathi folk music and dance, was presented. Upcoming events include a ghazal night, fashion show, and live concerts, culminating in a special musical tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on March 11.
The fair aims to support women entrepreneurs and offers high-quality handmade products at reasonable prices. Citizens are encouraged to visit and support local women-led businesses.
