Musician and educator Anil Srinivasan was recently presented MICA-Anjali Khandwalla Creative Mentor Award 2023-24 by his alma mater, Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad, for his “unwavering commitment towards mentoring young minds”.

Mr. Srinivasan, who is the founder of ‘Rhapsody Music Foundation’ and ‘Kruu’, got the award for his approach to integrating arts and music with education. He has mentored nearly seven lakh students through Rhapsody and Kruu, which were started with the goal ‘No child should get left behind.’

He received the award from the one who instituted it — Pradip Khandwalla, former director of IIM-Ahmedabad.

Recalling that Mr. Khandwalla was his professor for strategic management, Mr. Srinivasan said the award was given to a teacher or educator who developed creative potential among students.

An independent jury, comprising professors, evaluated the nominations. The previous recipients include Kathak dancer Kumudini Lakhia.
