‘AMC protecting accused staff’

Ahmedabad: Shehzad Khan Pathan, the Leader of the Opposition in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), on Tuesday alleged delays in probe against civic officials facing citizen complaints. "There are delays in investigating complaints against officials and employees in AMC's vigilance department. As of Feb 25, 2025, a total of 1,523 complaints were received against officials and employees from 2021-22 to 2024-25," he said.
Among these, 957 complaints were against officials of the estate-TDO department, 526 against those from various general departments, and 40 against engineering departments officials. "There is an attempt to protect the accused. We demand that all these vigilance probes be completed promptly," he said.TNN
