11 students injured as school bus falls into pit in Salem

Salem: Eleven school children suffered minor injuries after a school bus they were travelling in fell into a roadside pit near Attur in Salem district on Tuesday.
Police said the bus belonged to a private school in Pethanaickenpalayam, near Attur. The bus was carrying about 40 students from Kalarampatty when the driver suddenly lost control of the vehicle and it plunged into the pit.
The injured students were rushed to the government hospital in Attur for treatment, where their condition is said to be stable.
Attur rural police have registered a case and are investigating further.
