Vadodara: City crime branch registered an FIR for cheating against a city-based BJP worker in connection with a land deal. Dilipsinh Gohil, former chairman of the primary education committee, and Kamlesh Detroja, have been accused in the complaint filed by Ramesh Patel, a resident of Waghodia.
This is the second complaint of cheating against Gohil in the last two months. Patel, who is also a priest at a temple in Waghodia, told police that he wanted to buy a piece of land next to the temple. Patel said the land was owned by Gohil, who sold it to Amrutlal Parecha some years ago, and Kamlesh Detroja had power of attorney to manage the land.
Patel met Gohil and Detroja in 2023 for the deal. Detroja later showed Patel a copy of the power of attorney, after which he was convinced. The deal was struck at Rs 1.50 crore, of which Patel paid Rs 1.04 crore to Gohil and Detroja from his bank account.
The complainant then said he kept asking the accused duo to execute the transfer deed, but they kept saying Parecha was not well and sought more time. Patel told police that he learned that the accused duo sold the same piece of land to a BJP councillor, Parakramsinh Jadeja, in Nov last year, after which he filed a police complaint.
Gohil and Detroja face a complaint of cheating registered at Sama police station. Jadeja registered an FIR against the duo after they sold him a piece of land that didn't belong to them.
