Scottsdale welcomes Papago Hotel by Reside, a retro-chic addition to the Trademark Collection by Wyndham, blending 1950s style with modern luxury.
Seattle-based Reside, a residential hospitality management company, unveiled the Papago Hotel by Reside in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Monday. This 70-unit hotel, which has undergone extensive renovations, is part of the Trademark Collection by Wyndham, as detailed in a press release from Hotel Dive.
Situated just 6 miles from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the hotel retains its charming 1950s look, featuring bright turquoise walls, vintage mid-century furniture, and a classic Airstream trailer at the entrance.
This new opening marks a significant step in the partnership formed last year between Reside and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, highlighting Wyndham’s strategic push to expand its footprint in crucial markets.
Operating under the Trademark Collection by Wyndham, the pet-friendly Papago Hotel offers an array of amenities including an outdoor pool, fire pit, private cabanas, and a coffee bar. Additionally, it hosts Hai Noon, a dining establishment led by James Beard Award-winning chef Nobuo Fukuda.
This collaboration between Reside and Wyndham initially began with a 10-year development agreement aimed at boosting Wyndham’s portfolio with upscale, residential-style properties in major American cities. The partnership has already resulted in the introduction of five apartment-style hotels across Washington, D.C., Seattle, Houston, and New Orleans.
In a November interview with Hotel Dive, Reside’s CEO Lee Curtis expressed ambitions to target the top 50 U.S. metropolitan areas for expansion, revealing a substantial pipeline of over 60 projects. In December, Walter “J.R.” Dembiec Jr. was appointed to oversee this development initiative with Wyndham.
January saw the launch of two additional Reside apartment-style hotels in Washington, D.C., named Reside Navy Yard and Reside NoMa, further cementing the fruitful alliance with Wyndham.
