Nagpur: Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court on Monday issued notices to 3 Mahayuti MLAs — BJP's Pratap Adsad and Sanjay Kute, and Shiv Sena's (Shinde faction) Sanjay Gaikwad — following petitions challenging their poll victories. The HC directed them to file responses within 4 weeks.
The petitions, filed by losing candidates of MVA, allege that
Election Commission (EC) failed to follow mandated processes while conducting polls using EVMs. Congress candidate Virendra Jagtap filed the petition against Pratap Adsad, while Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Jayshree Shelke challenged Sanjay Gaikwad's win. Congress's Swati Wakekar filed a plea against Sanjay Kute. During hearing, Justice Anil Kilor ordered the removal of the EC and other officials from the list of respondents. tnn
