Amitabh Bachchan has seen bad times in the 90s. Most people know the story of his poverty. An old video of him is going viral on social media. In this, he has told how Dhirubhai Ambani sent help for him through his son in bad times. Not only this, when Amitabh Bachchan came out of debt, Dhirubhai said something in a crowded gathering which Big B considers more valuable than money. While telling this incident, Amitabh Bachchan became emotional. Mukesh Ambani, who was present there, got emotional.

Dhirubhai came to know about Big B’s debt

In the video Amitabh Bachchan says, there came a time in my life when I became bankrupt. The company that I had formed went into losses. I had to take a debt of crores. My personal bank balance became zero. All sources of income were closed and the government raided the house. Dhirubhai came to know about this. Without asking or knowing anyone, he told his younger son and my friend Anil, This is a bad time for him, give him some money. Anil came and told me this.

When Big B did not accept help

The amount he was willing to give would have put an end to all my dilemma and trouble. I was emotional at his generosity. But I felt that I would not be able to accept his generosity. By the grace of God, after a few difficult days, the situation changed. I started getting work. And gradually I was able to repay all my debts. One evening, I was invited to a party at Dhirubhai’s residence. On the lawn upstairs, Dhirubhai was sitting at a big table and talking with a few of his friends, a few bigwigs from the financial and corporate world.

Dhirubhai’s words were more valuable than money

Amitabh Bachchan further added, “He asked me to come and sit next to him. I felt very strange. I apologised and said, I am sitting here with my friends. I am fine here. He insisted and made me sit. Then in that gathering of his great personalities, he said, this boy had fallen. But he stood up again on his own strength. I respect him. His behavior and his words were much more valuable to me than the amount of money he was ready to give me to get me out of my crisis. This was his personality.”
