Govt refuses to answer questions on RR MoUs
Jaipur: State govt refused to answer questions raised in the Assembly Monday on MoUs signed under Rising Rajasthan (RR) Global Investment Summit, stating that the matter did not fall under the Assembly's purview. Congress chief whip Rafeek Khan sought details on the number of MoUs signed during the summit, a sector-wise breakup of investment commitments, the number of MoUs that materialised into actual investments, and land allotments made under these MoUs.
The govt, in a written response, declined to provide the information, asserting that the queries did not come under the Assembly's jurisdiction. Khan's question remained unaddressed as the Question Hour ended. Khan later said to the media, "The govt has been exposed. They have no answers about the investment summit and have misled the people by claiming Rs 35 lakh crore in MoU signings, when not even 10% of that will materialise," Khan said.
He termed the govt's refusal to share details as disregard for Assembly procedures. "By withholding this information, they have undermined the sanctity of legislative accountability," he said. TNN
