Dhaka: Bangladesh has deployed Bayraktar TB2 drones purchased from Turkey near the Indian border. With this, India is surrounded by Turkey’s drones from three directions: southeast and west. Maldives to the south and Pakistan to the west are already operating this drone. The news of Bangladesh deploying TB2 drones near the Indian border comes at a time when its military ties with Pakistan are rapidly strengthening. Bangladesh has deployed drones on the Indian border.

According to an ANI report, the Bangladesh Army has acquired Turkish TB2 Bayraktar drones and is actively using them for surveillance operations near the Indian border. Defense sources have confirmed to ANI that Indian intelligence agencies have detected the drones in operation and are closely monitoring their activities. In recent months, the drones have been observed conducting reconnaissance missions in Bangladeshi airspace, particularly in areas adjacent to the Indian border.

The Bayraktar TB2 drone is so powerful that some flights have lasted over 20 hours, demonstrating the drone’s endurance and capabilities. In response, India has deployed radar and other surveillance systems to keep a vigilant eye on these activities. The medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) drone, Bayraktar TB2, has emerged as a significant achievement for the Turkish defense industry. Widely deployed in modern conflicts, it is capable of carrying air-to-ground weapons, raising concerns about its operational role near India’s borders.

Amidst these tensions, the administration of Bangladeshi Prime Minister Mohammad Yunus has been seen strengthening relations with Pakistani intelligence agencies. Reports indicate that Pakistani military officials have visited strategically sensitive areas near the Indian border, including the Chicken Neck corridor in Siliguri, West Bengal, which is a narrow strip of land of critical importance to India’s territorial integrity.

Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has recently raised concerns about the increasing presence of Pakistani military and intelligence officials in Bangladesh.
