Teenagers hack labourer after spat over fishing

The Pattamadai police are on the lookout for three teenagers who allegedly hacked a labourer on Monday night. The police said S. Siva, 19, K. Balamurugan, 18, N. Deva Pandian, 19, all from Marudhu Pandiar Thevar Street in Pattamadai, were fishing at Kannadiyan Channel near MGR Nagar next to Pattamadai recently. When C. Maharajan, 32, of the MGR Nagar shouted at them for fishing in his area, heated argument broke out between them. After leaving the spot, the three went to the home of Maharajan on Monday night and allegedly hacked him with a machete. He has been admitted to the Tirunelveli Medical College Hospital. The Pattamadai police have registered a case and a search is on for the three assailants.
