Constable claims denial of leave led to his child’s death
Vijayapura: AS Bandugol, a constable of Gandhi Chowk, Vijayapura, alleged that he lost his newborn child as he did not get leave to ensure proper treatment for his wife and infant on Tuesday. Bandugol allegedly posted in police WhatsApp groups saying he lost his newborn as he was denied leave by his superiors. His post reads in Kannada: "I did not get leave. I could not save my son. I am hurt. It should not happen with others." He shared an image of his infant in ICU, and marked it to the home minister G Parameshwara, DGP, and some media on Instagram with the account named Johed King. However, SP Laxman Nimbargi said that Bandugol did not apply for leave either orally or in writing. "He attended to his duties on Monday and Tuesday. We are told it was his third child, and he put a message in police constables' groups saying he was denied leave. We are collecting more details. We will take action against whoever is guilty," he added.
