Vijayendra asks CM for a farmer-friendly budget
Mandya: BJP state president BY Vijayendra called for CM Siddaramaiah to deliver a farmer-friendly budget on Tuesday. Speaking to reporters after joining in paddy planting at Kottatti village in Mandya district, Vijayendra noted that since the Siddaramaiah-led Congress govt assumed office, they did not implement any farmer-beneficial policies.
Accompanied by BJP leaders, including MLA Satish Reddy, Vijayendra participated in paddy planting along with farmers. Vijayendra discussed BJP's contributions to strengthen agriculture in Mandya district.
On the occasion, Vijayendra acknowledged Yediyurappa's influence, a prominent figure from Mandya who championed farmers' rights. Vijayendra criticised the Congress govt for neglecting farmer welfare and accused them of corruption and poor development. He alleged that the govt favoured Tamil Nadu's interests over Karnataka's farmers in the Cauvery basin.
Ahead of Siddaramaiah's 16th state budget presentation, Vijayendra advocated for farmer-centric policies. He addressed concerns about drought conditions and drinking water accessibility. He requested Rs 3 lakh allocation for electricity connections for farmers and urged the govt to address their difficulties. Regarding DK Shivakumar's remarks, Vijayendra advised him against such alleged arrogance and emphasised humble public service.
