Nari Shakti: Pink buses, toilets & training centres for women

Patna: The state govt in the budget announced the introduction of pink buses in all the cities. These buses will have all-women drivers and women conductors. Apart from such buses, pink toilets will be made in major cities. At the panchayat-level, Kanya Vivah Mandap will be set up, which can be availed at a minimum price for wedding purposes.
These announcements were made by deputy CM Samrat Choudhary while presenting the state budget 2025-26 on Monday. Choudhary said in all the major cities of the state, the govt will ply pink buses for women. Apart from pink buses, vehicle operation training centres, exclusively for women, will be set up in the cities, where women trainers will impart training.
Choudhary said training will be given to women as drivers and conductors, and 33% reservation will be given by the transport department to women drivers, conductors, and depot maintenance staff. Talking about the pink toilets, Choudhary said in the first phase, 20 such toilets will be set up. He said keeping in mind the safety of women, a hostel for their accommodation and a proper manual for the functioning of working women's hostels will be made. These hostels will be run by women.
He said after reservation for women in the police, a large number of women were recruited as constables, and the govt will take houses on rent for their residence. He added to promote tourism, the home stay facility during the Chhath Puja will be encouraged, and women will be imparted training as guides.
Gym on wheels in city
A gym on wheels, exclusively for women, will be started in Patna with only women trainers to impart training. Apart from such movable gyms, a Mahila Haat will also be set up in the state capital to help their business.
