A group of Government Law College students submitted a petition to the district administration seeking hostel accommodation for LL.B and B.A LL.B students at the institution, here on Monday.
Students of the two courses, many of whom commute to the college from long distance, are forced to seek private accommodation, said the students. They alleged that some property owners were not willing to rent out property to students of law.
“Many students are from underprivileged backgrounds and cannot afford private accommodation in the city. Time spent travelling can be used for studying, instead. We request the district authorities to take action and resolve the issue at the latest,” said M. Parthasarathy, a student from Cuddalore.
