Monday, March 3, 2025

Delta expands its Africa network with first-ever Marrakech flights and enhanced Atlanta-Accra service, offering seamless travel and premium in-flight comfort.

Delta Air Lines is strengthening its presence in Africa with the launch of its first-ever route to Marrakech, Morocco, alongside a new nonstop connection between Atlanta and Accra, Ghana.

Set to commence on October 25, 2025, Delta’s Marrakech service marks the airline’s debut in Morocco, catering to the growing demand for travel to this UNESCO-listed destination. Additionally, the Atlanta-Accra route is scheduled to launch on December 1, 2025, strategically timed to meet peak winter travel demand to Ghana.

Having entered the African market in 2006, Delta currently operates year-round flights to five key destinations across the continent. The latest expansion aligns with increasing interest in Morocco and Ghana, offering travelers greater connectivity options. Passengers from more than 125 U.S. cities will now have seamless one-stop access to Marrakech.

Enhanced Travel Experience to Marrakech and Accra

Delta’s new Atlanta-Marrakech route will operate three times a week using the Boeing 767-400ER, featuring a range of premium travel options, including:
Delta One: Lie-flat seats, premium amenities, and an indulgent chef-curated menu featuring a customizable ice cream sundae.
Delta Premium Select: Enhanced comfort with wider seats, extra recline, and premium dining.
Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin: A variety of seating choices catering to different travel preferences.

Meanwhile, Accra remains a top destination for U.S.-Africa travel, particularly during the holiday season. To accommodate high demand, Delta is introducing seasonal daily nonstop service from Atlanta to Accra, supplementing its existing year-round daily service from New York-JFK.

Additionally, Delta is deploying its advanced Airbus A330-900neo aircraft on the Atlanta-Accra route, following the successful debut of this aircraft type on the JFK-Accra service. The A330-900neo offers Delta One Suites, spacious cabins, and upgraded in-flight features designed for a superior travel experience.

With these expansions, Delta continues to enhance its global connectivity, providing travelers with more seamless and comfortable options to explore Africa.
