In the mid-80s, the daughter of an IAS officer made her entry into the film industry and quickly rose to superstardom. At the height of her career, she married a widower and kept the marriage secret until she became pregnant with their first child. We are talking about actress Juhi Chawla, who throughout her career has worked with several superstars including Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Aamir Khan, Sunny Deol, Rishi Kapoor, and among others.

Before beginning her career as an actress, Juhi Chawla was one of the top models and won the Miss India title in 1984 and even bagged the Best Costume award at the Miss Universe pageant in the following year in Miami, US. She made her Bollywood debut in the 1986 film Sultanat, which failed terribly at the box office. However, her breakthrough came with the film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. The film became a cult classic and her pairing with Aamir Khan, was widely adored by the audiences. On the personal front, Juhi Chawla is married to industrialist Jay Mehta since 1995. They are parents to daughter Jhanvi and son Arjun. According to reports, Juhi kept her marriage under the wraps for several years as she was afraid that revealing would negatively affect her career, as she was at the peak of her stardom. In an earlier interview with journalist Rajeev Masand, the actress revealed, “I was just about established and just starting to do well. That’s the time Jay was serenading me, and I was afraid of losing my career just when I kind of got there. So, I wanted to carry on and this seemed the midway, that let’s keep it quiet and it’s okay, you carry on working.”
