Two of a family killed in an accident

Mangaluru: Two members of a family lost their lives in an accident reported in Puttur involving an autorickshaw and a KSRTC bus on Sunday evening. The deceased are Zameela, 50, and her grandson Tadveer, 5. According to police, the accident occurred at Manjalpadpu in Kabaka when an autorickshaw carrying five peolpe including the driver, travelling from Mangaluru to Puttur, overturned while overtaking a vehicle and collided with a KSRTC bus coming from the opposite direction. The family was allegedly returning from Mangaluru. Three other occupants of the autorickshaw sustained injuries and are undergoing treatment at a hospital. A case has been registered at Puttur Traffic Police Station.
