Gorakhpur rally calls for Bharat Ratna for Veer Savarkar
Gorakhpur: A large procession was taken out in Gorakhpur under the banner of Vishva Hindu Raksha Parishad, demanding Bharat Ratna for freedom fighter Veer Savarkar. The march was led by organisation's district president, Abhishek Rai, and commenced from Pant Park near Gorakhpur University, culminating at Chhatrasangh Square. Hundreds of supporters actively participated in the rally.
"Veer Savarkar envisioned the concept of a Hindu Rashtra decades ago, and today, this ideology is gaining strength across the country. The demand for conferring the Bharat Ratna upon him is intensifying," said Rai. He further expressed optimism that the Modi-led central govt, which honours Savarkar's legacy, may soon bestow the prestigious award upon him.
The rally saw the participation of key figures including Suraj Jaiswal (district vice president), Satish Kumar (district secretary), Amit Kumar, Shivam Kumar (district president, Youth Wing), Siyaram Saini (district general secretary), and Neelam Devi (district president, Women's Wing), along with a significant number of male and female supporters.
Throughout the march, slogans were raised in honour of Savarkar, with demonstrators urging the govt to expedite the process of conferring the Bharat Ratna upon him. The event also witnessed fervent discussions on the ideology of a Hindu Rashtra.
