Patna ranks 15th in Swachh Survekshan 2024 for citizens’ feedback
Patna: With active participation of citizens in Swachh Survekshan 2024, Patna secured 15th position among the country's top 20 cities for public feedback, officials of the Patna Municipal Corporation said on Saturday.
Apart from making continuous efforts to keep the city clean and beautiful, the civic body has stepped up its campaign to collect community input for the citizens' voice segment. The administration is actively encouraging people to take part in the assessment procedure, which will contribute to enhancing the city's hygiene and waste disposal handling systems.
The Swachh Survekshan survey, conducted across all urban local authorities by the Union ministry of housing and urban affairs, assigns rankings based on cleanliness standards. The urban local bodies will get the ranks based on the score of 10 parameters, including citizens' feedback and grievance redressal, which has a weightage of 500 points out of a total of 12,500.
Municipal commissioner Animesh Kumar Parashar said, "To improve Patna's ranking in the Swachh Survekshan 2024, feedback is being collected from the general public. Employees of the PMC are gathering feedback by visiting the offices of ward councillors, circle offices, and houses. Participation of the people resulted in Patna being included among the top 20 cities in the country for providing feedback, reaching the 15th rank by 6pm on Saturday."
He added, "In addition to the daily efforts for cleanliness by the employees, there is now a continuous appeal for feedback from the general public. There is a set of 10 questions on sanitation and cleanliness. Residents need to answer these questions with a yes or no."
