Nagpur: The Nagpur airport will soon have flights to Noida, Jaipur, and Kolhapur, besides additional services to Pune, Bangalore, Delhi, Indore, and Kolkata. As the new flights start from March 30, the timings indicate that the recarpeting of the runway, which has restricted operations at the airport, will also end by that time. Currently, no flights can operate between 10am and 6pm from Nagpur airport.
The slot coordination committee meeting, attended by officials of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Airports Authority of India (AAI), and joint venture airport operators like Mihan India Limited (MIL), was held last week. The summer schedule prepared after the meeting includes new daily flights to the three cities to be operated by Indigo Airlines and Star Air.
The flight to Jaipur by Indigo Airlines will start from March 30. The plane will reach Nagpur from Jaipur at 11.05pm and take off at 7.20 in the morning. Star Air's flight to Kolhapur, which has been given a slot from April 1, will arrive at Nagpur at 3.45pm and take off at 4.15pm.
Indigo will start operating the Noida flight from April 30. The flight will depart from Nagpur at 4.30pm. There will be additional flights to Indore, Kolkata, Pune, Bengaluru, and Delhi.
Starting from July 26, the Indore flight will depart at 12.35pm after landing at Nagpur at 12.10pm. Another flight will reach Nagpur from Kolkata at 12.15pm and fly off to Delhi at 12.45pm every Wednesday. The service will start from July 30.
