Advocate Sartej Singh Narula elected HCBA president
Chandigarh: Advocate Sartej Singh Narula was elected the president of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association (HCBA). Narula defeated his nearest rival, Ravinder Singh Randhawa. Narula polled 1,781 votes, Randhawa got 1,404 votes, and former president Vikas Malik finished third with 816 votes.
A total of seven lawyers were in the fray for the coveted post of HCBA president. Advocate Nilesh Bhardwaj was elected as vice-president. Similarly, advocate Gagandeep Jammu was elected as secretary, and Bhagyashri Setia as joint secretary.
Advocate Harvinder Singh Maan was elected as treasurer of HCBA. The elections were held by the election committee headed by senior advocate Kuljit Singh Sidhu. There were a total of around 5,000 voters in these elections. The result of 10 members of the executive body is expected to be declared on Saturday.
