Biman Bangladesh flight BG 388 from Dhaka (DAC) to Bangkok (BKK) on February 28, 2025, was forced to return to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport due to a cabin depressurization issue. The aircraft, S2-AFM, landed back in Dhaka, where passengers were reportedly sequestered without any clear communication from airline authorities.
Passengers onboard BG 388 were caught in a mid-air emergency when the aircraft experienced cabin depressurization, prompting an immediate return to Dhaka. The situation has since led to growing frustration, as Biman authorities have yet to provide information or assistance to impacted travelers.
Meanwhile, passengers waiting at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport for BG 389, the return flight to Dhaka, remain in the dark about their travel plans. No official statements have been issued regarding the aircraft’s status, rescheduling, or alternative arrangements.
Passengers stranded in both Dhaka and Bangkok have voiced concerns over Biman Bangladesh’s failure to communicate essential updates. With no clarity on flight resumption, rebooking options, or compensation policies, affected travelers are left scrambling for answers.
Aviation analysts note that cabin depressurization incidents demand immediate safety measures. However, passenger management and crisis communication are equally critical in such situations. The airline’s lack of proactive response has intensified frustrations among travelers and raised concerns about operational transparency.
Biman Bangladesh is expected to release an official statement soon, addressing both the cause of the incident and contingency plans for stranded passengers. Until then, uncertainty prevails as travelers await answers amid disrupted schedules and mounting inconvenience.
