CPI state Secretary R. Mutharasan said the party would deface Hindi words in all Central Government offices in the State if the Centre failed to drop the three-language formula in schools.
Addressing media persons on Wednesday, he questioned if democracy prevailed in the country or if it was being ruled like a monarchy. He strongly condemned the Centre for failing to provide education funds, disaster relief funds, and other necessary financial support to the State.
Mr. Mutharasan noted that the National Education Policy (NEP) would lead to school dropouts and adversely affect the people of the State. He also pointed out that 49 Navodaya schools in the State had no Tamil teachers. “The Centre is trying to implement the RSS policy of ‘One nation, one language,’” he said.
Mr. Mutharasan further stated that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s announcement of an all-party meeting on March 5 regarding the delimitation exercise is significant and urged all parties to unite. “The exercise will impact everyone, and therefore, all parties should participate in the meeting,” he emphasised.
