Chitarpur bandh called over ‘missing’ woman peaceful
Ramgarh: Ajsu-P-led bandh in Ramgarh's Chitarpur on Tuesday to protest against the administration's failure to nab the person of a particular community with whom a local woman eloped ended peacefully following a four-hour blockade of Ramgarh Bokaro highway in the morning.
Senior officials of the administration also conducted flag march in the area to ensure law and order.
Ramgarh SDPO Parmeshwar Prasad, who was camping in Chitarpur, said, "The highway was blocked by bandh supporters for a few hours, but we got it cleared soon. Ramgarh DC Chandan Kumar, SP Ajay Kumar and other senior officials conducted a flag march in Ramgarh."
On Feb 9, a man escaped with a woman from another community prompting a complaint to Rarappa police by the latter's family. Police had lodged an FIR based on a written complaint by the family of the missing woman under section 87, 3(5) of Bharat Nyay Sanhita.
The SDPO said that the woman has been traced in Kerala. "Police would soon bring her back," he said.
