MLC moots regular guarantee scheme camps in Mangaluru
Mangaluru: MLC Ivan D'Souza said that the Mangaluru Taluk Guarantee Scheme Implementation Committee has been directed to hold guarantee scheme camps to redress grievances of beneficiaries in Mangaluru every day. He was speaking after inaugurating a guarantee scheme camp held at Attavar on Monday.
The state govt, having rolled out five guarantee initiatives, has called upon all citizens to take an active role in ensuring the benefits are accessible to those who qualify. To facilitate smooth execution, the govt has established a dedicated Guarantee Scheme Implementation Authority. The MLC emphasised that their fundamental objective is to remove barriers and ensure every eligible recipient can access these welfare programmes.
The five guarantees represent crucial welfare initiatives launched by the state administration. According to D'Souza, whilst several states fail to honour their electoral commitments, the Karnataka administration stands firm in fulfilling its promises. The guarantee schemes, executed under chief minister Siddaramaiah's guidance, offered substantial support to underprivileged citizens, those without homes, and individuals below the poverty threshold, enabling them to live with greater security. D'Souza instructed Surendra Kambli, who heads the Mangaluru Taluk Five Guarantee Authority, to ensure the effective implementation of these programmes throughout the taluk.
The MLC also laid the foundation for infrastructure projects worth Rs 50 lakh under CM's special grant at Premnagar in Bajjodi of Maroli ward of the Mangaluru City Corporation. D'Souza stated that the govt prioritises the provision of basic amenities and will continue to focus on infrastructural development in the region.
