SCTIMST staff union seek appointment to various posts in the new block

The Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) Staff Union has urged the Union government to make permanent appointments to academic and non-academic posts in the new block of the institute which was inaugurated recently.  

The union rued that while recommendation was made for the appointment of 900 fresh employees to cater to 160 beds, it failed to receive approval. The union also demanded removal of impediments to the conduct of free heart surgery for children, implementation of seniority promotion and grant of bonus.

Meanwhile, K.V. Manoj Kumar was elected president and M.T. Arun general secretary of the union at the annual meeting.
