Konkan Railway opens executive lounge at Mookambika Road Byndoor station

Konkan Railway Corporation Ltd., on Monday, February 24, inaugurated an Executive Lounge on Platform 1 at Mookambika Road Byndoor Railway Station in Byndoor.

KRCL Chairman and Managing Director Santosh Kumar Jha inaugurted the lounge in the presence of Byndoor MLA Gururaj Gantihole and others. Mr. Jha said the state-of-the-art facility was part of Konkan Railway’s ongoing bid to elevate the travel experience for its passengers, particularly in Mookambika Road Byndoor, a key tourist spiritual hub.

Mookambika Road Byndoor that caters to pilgrims visiting Kollur Mookambika Temple and general public of Byndoor taluk witnesses considerable footfalls.

With the inauguration of the new lounge, passengers now have an additional reason to celebrate their journey, KRCL said in a statement. The lounge offers a serene environment with fully air-conditioned cushioned sofa seating, complimentary W-Fi, a reading gallery with newspapers and magazines, and a television for entertainment

A 24x7 cafe ensures that travellers have access to refreshments at all times while ample charging facilities are available for mobile devices and laptops. The tender was awarded to Kamalaksh Naik to run the lounge.

Charges to use the lounge start from ₹50. Facilities also include toilet and shower facilities.
