Don’t believe in rumours: Bokaro admin to JAC examinees
Bokaro: The district administration has urged board examinees to disregard rumours and focus on examination preparation, assuring their commitment to conduct fair examinations in accordance with established regulations.
Last week, JAC cancelled two exams — Hindi (A&B) and science — after questions went viral on social media platforms.
Bokaro administration said exams were being held at 63 matriculation and 44 intermediate centres. Deputy commissioner (DC) Jadhav Vijaya Narayan Rao said the cyber cell was actively monitoring social media platforms and warned of legal consequences for those spreading false information.
She said, "Necessary directions have been given to the officials concerned while discussing various points regarding the rumours being spread on social media platforms regarding the leak of question paper for the examinations organised by JAC."
The DC said 107 magistrates, 18 patrol magistrates, and police have been deployed for exam. "The issue of rumours regarding the examination being spread on social media platforms has come to the notice of the district administration. Action is being taken by the cyber cell and administrative officers," she said.
Question-cum-answer booklets from JAC are securely stored in treasury and bank vaults, with round-the-clock CCTV surveillance and security personnel. On examination days, patrolling magistrates and police officers distribute these materials to centre superintendents under video surveillance. The booklets are opened before examinations begin, witnessed by assigned magistrates, centre superintendents, two invigilators and two students, she said.
Post-examination, patrolling magistrates and police officers ensure safe storage of answer booklets in treasury strong rooms at Bokaro/Tenughat, before JAC officials collect them under secure conditions.
